i just bought a skunk2 shift knob and i was wondering who here has modified their oem boot to make it look ... decent :) i used i-werks method of putting the locking nut under the boot and the oem silver clip upside down over the nut... but it doesn't feel right when i shift... i asked adamnquickcivic about his custom clip and he says the maker, william, doesn't make it anymore.. i'm not ready to shell out another $40-50 bucks for a ctr boot... so any help is wonderful! :)

I'm in the same situation as right now. I'm looking into buying an aftermarket shift knob (skunk2 perhaps) and no idea how to do my shift boot.

BTW, where and how much did u get your knob from? I found one from groupbuycenter for $53 shipped.

i got mine from ebay... $50 shipped... but i'm sure you can get it for cheaper... i've seen ebay ones going for ~$35 shipped... i just got lazy and didn't want to wait.. however.. now that i don't have a jdm boot... it seems like i might need to shell out a few more bucks anyway... sigh...

im in the same boat guys, my skunk2 knob is just collecting dust...i dont want to put it on my oem boot...does ANY! know anything about modding our boot?! cause i really have a hard time shelling out an extra 50 dollars for something that does NOTHING but hold a knob better....Why honda why?! why not just make 1 universal boot for the R and Si!? That was sooo freaking stupid on their part!

FYI: There is an RSX optional part you can purchase that will attach to the top of the shift boot and give you the exact look of the JDM boot. I know it's available and not expensive. Try a search or contact user: anjapower as I've seen it on his car. hth...
