Are there any 'How To's' to replace that slot with a charger/lighter tube/slot?

Im pretty sure with some searching around, you can get a 12V slot for that with OEM parts... its used (inversely) as a lighter in Europe.

I used the extra spot and custom fabbed it to fit as the switch to my street glow. My whole car is black with red accesories, so the dark red street glow looks hard when i drive/

ditto that. got a tube of LEDs under the dash. I love my red interior, heheh. Red in front and blacklight in back. as for a switch, i used a oem fog light switch.

I'll be making a How To on making a cig lighter for the empty slot soon. Once I get the time to finish what I started. Got the cig lighter in the slot, but havent wired it yet.

wouldnt u want a shift light to be an in your face thing? if it is mount there would it catch your attention? if you mount it in an angle with the light flashing at you, then i'll be a nice spot. that's IF it look flush.

People usually use that spot for s2000 engine start button, meters (oil, volt, etc), and cig lighters. I got a cig lighter in replace of the empty slot. an extra outlet is nice. what i really want to see if someone to put a clock there. remove out stock headunit and bye bye clock.

Did anyone actually able to move hazard light to the empty spot and put the S2000 engine starter button there? I heard noone's been able to do it.

Almost everyone who has s2000 start button on their EP did that.

I agree with the shift light or starter. I would move the hazard button to the blank hole and put it in the hazard button's place.

I dont really like the starter button idea however... I prefer a conventional tun of a key.

That would also be a nice spot to rig up a cell phone holder or something... or maybe a volume control knob for subwoofers :-/

just curious, but dont the right hand drive cars have the hazard switch on the right?? wouldnt it be easier to just swap out the bottom piece of trim from a right hand drive?? just a thought

Did you have to do any cutting to the CF dash or is the previously unused slot just a pop out?

Yes it is a carbon look overlay, Thats why i said "carbon look". :winkm:

It did not take me very long, maybe an hour or two to do all the modding and 15mins to do all the wiring. Pretty easy mod. And it glows amber like the rest of the dash so it looks really awesome at night! (not as bright as everything else though)

You could not use the dash piece from the right hand drive Type R cuz the piece is angled to the right. It is not symetrical.

if you want to be different you can actually make that plastic piece and actual button of some sort or a nob...
I saw that one guy had made it into a sleeper bass adjustment nob... that he would press then it would pop out and then he could adjust his subs...
