Throw some ideas on how we can make our cars lighter for those track days.
We can start with basics (cheap) and then expand to some more expensive stuff.

BASICS

IDEA
1) Wheel+tire combo (stock 38 lb) - 15in Konig Helium wheels+tires for 30 lb [32 lb for all 4 wheels/tires]
2) Throw out the jack and the spare. Carry a fix-a-flat. [40 lb]
GUESSES
3) Change intake. Get aftermarket. Do not know the weights. [5 lb ]
Somebody can fill this in

4) Replace factory exhaust with a lighter (not necessarily titanium) one. [5 lb ]
5) Replace factory header with a lighter (maybe ceramic) one. [5 lb ]

6) Replace factory battery with a lighter one. [10 lb]
...

Most of us will do the 3+4+5 (I/H/E) - we might as well lost some weight.

Oh, yeah, I forgot.

99) Get gym membership. [20 lb]

Basically, we can shave off about 100 lb (remember - this is an estimate) and in
the process up the HP/TQ by carefully choosing our mods.

What do you think? What would you add to the list...

I've been meaning to pull out my spare tire and jack. I just don't have a place to put them though. (I live in an apartment building)
I'll find a home for them eventually though. When I do I'm gonna buy a can of that fixaflat stuff. That'd give me MaD TyTe lytness Yo!

titanium is the shit. Me and my friend were playing catch with my muffler before i put it on. it was atleast half the weight of the stock muffler. I was able to catch it with one hand easyily. Anyways it is changing colors now and it looks really cool. I know i spent 390bucks on a muffler but it is sweet i dont regret it specially because im not into chrome bling bling type of stuff.

I was thinking about a hood. But, our hood is so tiny ... I wander if it is worth paying $600 (the going price)

Well if you want to get stupid:rolleyes: about it there is MAJOR weight in all that safety gear on our car. Beams in doors, bumper area. Hell get a carbon fiber sun roof. Glass is very heavy. Our winshield weighs a ton.
airbags. Hell look here http://www.sportcompactcarweb.com/features/0208_scared/

greenguy, I certainly do not want to be stupid and get lexan windows and similar hyper-expensive commodities ...
I am just looking at some realisting options.
But, a CF sun roof is a good idea. I am not really a fan of sunroofs.
