Ah yes! I was trying to remember which member had em... do the come painted? How much do they cost to paint? They sure look nice...

SilverEP

No, they dont come painted. They are black...after you win the auction, the guy will email you a price to have them painted any color for about $75 more. I just got mine in black and then had them painted by a local friend of mine. I think they look really clean. I like them alot!!

I e-mailed Calvin from Sky Perfromance ( sky_performance@yahoo.com ) and found out that carbon fiber ones can be made as well, also the ABS splitters are on backorder for 4-6 weeks but you can preorder. Just e-mail and ask'em.

They also have Seibon(sp?) hoods, VIS hoods and spoilers, and Buddy club kits.

Here is a reply I got from Calvin about ordering outside of eBay.

"Hi, the splitter out of ebay i can give you for $60
shipped within U.S. The actual day for back order is
6-8 weeks not 3-4 weeks.

Thanks,
Calvin"

I'll be sending my $60 ASAP. These look very nice for the price.

Nice, anyone else installed this? Looking for a white EP with these.

fsugatorbait
12-10-2003, 12:19 PM
me too, I've been emailing back and forth with Calvin about these, here's what he said:

Hi Phil, just to let you know that the splitter is
backorder right now. It take 6-8 weeks to be in. I can
take pre-order for it. There is couple already pay and
waiting for it now. I can sell it to you for $60
shipped and painting is $80

He also has these in carbon fiber, but has to check with his vendor about exact pricing, he guestimated $150-$180. He said that he's trying to get them in by the end of the year...im definately getting a set but havent decided if I want CF or painted.

What would you guys suggest on a white EP with CF mugen wing and hood and CTR sideskirts?

Of course, no body said that splitters were a NEW idea, but they are new for our cars. Technically they have been around a whole lot longer than 97' or so, but like I said, they are new to us EP owners, and are a nice cheap alternative to a lip or body kit.

how do they mount? to existing screws? or is there drilling involved? do we have to take off that rubber thingee on the bottom of our bumpers?

carsoption
12-29-2003, 11:15 PM
it gets screwed in. The rubber underneath the bumper will need to be removed, but that is very simple to remove and put back on.

what's up with the rubber - remove or not? conflicting stories.

Let me try to clear this up a bit. I just got word that the CF ones are a generic fit and that you would have to drill through the splitter to match up with the holes on the car. The rubber air damn will need to be removed for the CF ones, but for the ABS they are specifically fit to the EP and apparently you can keep the damn. Im not pleased that I wasnt informed earlier about the CF ones not fitting. Im trying to get them sent back and replaced with the ABS ones. Ill try to get pics up this weekend.

CivicHB,

I finally got mine yesterday, how did the install go? Do you have a quick "how to" you can give me? I opened the box and inspected the contects yesterday and that was about it. I had the nuts, bolts, washers, and obviously the splitters themselves, but what are the metal peices used for? Thanks.

CivicHB
01-20-2004, 10:57 AM
Mine didn't come with any hardware, but I had screws and washers at the house anyways. Keep in mind you don't have to do this but I did. I removed the small rubber apron from underneath the bumber.I will put it back on later. That involves 2 plastic screw/clips and 4 screws with washers attached and the four brackets. Then I slid the 4 thin metal "u" clips with the countersink that the 4 screws with washers attached screwed into originaly, out of the bumper and slid them into same looking slot just further up. In the pic you can see the slots, the one the apron used and the unused stock slots further up used for the splitter. The slots in the pic are in the middle where the splitters don't meet, it just an example. Four of the holes in the splitters line up with the unused open stock slots. So the 4 clips and 4 screws ( not the 4 brackets or 2 plastic screw/clips ) from the stock rubber apron can be removed, moved up and reused to attach the splitters. The holes in the spliiters that didin't line up with the stock slots were filled with screws and washers from the my house and screwed into the bumper itself for security.BTW These will be painted soon. So your "metal things" I assume are just the clips with countersinks for the screws the slide into the open slots. These slots must be used by the HFP kit, because Honda had the open slots there for some reason, but the splitters just take advantage of these unused slots. If your still confused then keep fishing, I can answer any more questions and/ take more pics, if need be.

Send an email to Calvin (sky_performance@yahoo.com), he's the guy I bought my pair from on ebay, but you could ask him if he has a set he'd be willing to sell to you directly. I believe when I bought them I got them for roughly $60 shipped. Calvin's a great guy, he should be able to help you get a set.
