I think the brakes and the steering wheel are just fine. the brakes are better than my previous 97 ex. and the steering wheel never gives me problems...maybe it's because I can do 75 pushups in a row....military strength!

When I first got my 02 SiR, I did find the brakes to be different, but I'm now use to them and they are excellent. As for the steering, well I have not yet experienced any thing wrong with it, so that too is excellent.

I think the brakes and steering are fine. The steering wheel does have alot of vibration though if you aren't on smooth pavement. The tires aren't the greatest either which might affect steering and brakes. Anyone have excessive tire noise with their factory tires? Mine sounds like a 4x4 with big tires. You get that pulsating roar going down the road.

I dont get any vibration in my steering weel and we have som terrible roads here in Colorado. The tires are loud, thats just cheap tires for you.

Really? I test drove 3 Si's and all 3 had vibration. The sales rep said they all do it and that people always comment about the vibration when they test drive civics. I had a 2000 civic ex 2 years back and it did the same thing. They even rebalanced my tires and it did not help. It's not like the wheel shakes back and forth like you have reverse rims, but it's more evident than in other cars I've driven. Then again, those were more expensive cars.

I still dont know what you are talking about. I dont get any vibration at all. Must be your side of the world or something.

Must be. I guess my dealership has a bunch of reject cars or something. Ha! Really though, it's not too bad, problem may just be that I'm too picky about my car. I do like it alot and I definitely won't be getting rid of it.

I think our ABS system engages WAY too early. There have been a few times during some spirited driving that it's engaged....pisses me off.

in my honest opinion....OUR BRAKES SUCK! And i have 11.8in rotors in the front and same calipers as S2k's and they dont stop for beans...

Anti-lock brakes are not designed for race applications and often have a longer stopping distance. They are designed to prevent skidding due to non drivers that lock up thier brakes. If you dislike ABS you can disconnect it, its really not that hard to do.

I have also found the ABS engages too easily - thought it was just me... my wife has a golf and I hardly ever feel its ABS (except on icy roads) Do you think this coudl be because the tires are not the best and so they do not provide enough grip - hence the ABS comes in. Has anyone who has upgraded their tires found a difference?

Yeah I've got 17's with michellin pilots and the problem still persists.

Yeah, I have the same type wheels and tires and notice this problem...however, its nothing major.
