1. Unscrew the shift knob and pull the shift boot cover off. BE CAREFUL when removing the cover, you're not in a hurry. Take your time and don't damage the cover. Put a few fingers inside the shift boot and hold the sides and pull, the lower cover will pop out. Run your fingers on the side and proceed upwards to remove the cover.

2. Pop the cover right of the hazard light out. Cut the two pegs that are sticking out the back (where the empty slot is) of the shift boot cover. Put your cigaratte lighter into the empty slot. Does it fit? To small? Go get a different one. If the cigaratte lighter doesn't fit (to big) the hole, proceed to step 3.

3. Use the the power drill with the round sander attachment and "SLOWLY" round off the inside of the hole. I do mean SLOWLY. Test fit the hole after a few spins with the sander. With each test fit, FORCE the cigaratte lighter into the hole. You don't want a perfect fit. You want the body of the lighter snug up tight. When sanding, sand with the silver side of the shift boot facing down. The reason is because you wouldn't scratch up the silver side if you made any mistakes. Once again, sand off the hole SLOWLY and BE CAREFUL. Once the cigaratte lighter fits, shake the lighter and see if it wobbiles. It shouldn't move if you didn't make the hole too big.

4. Now remove the e-brake console. Remove the screws underneath each side of the rear cup holder. Pull up on the rear console, there are two clips in front of that piece. Remove the screws on the side of the middle of the console. Now remove the two clips in the front of the console. To remove those clips, use a pointy object and poke the center of the clip and it'll pop out. Use a small flat screwdriver and stick it in between the OEM cigaratte lighter holder and the shifter console. Gently prey out (3 clips total, 2 top and 1 bottom) the OEM cigaratte lighter holder. Unplug the plug that connects to the cigaratte lighter. After removing that piece, you'll expose two more screws, remove those. Slide foward the two cup holder in the console and remove the rubber mat in the bottom. Use a socket/rachet and remove the two bolts. Screws/bolts are now all off. Push the console foward (by pushing foward will avoid breaking any tabs) and pull back. The pictures below with red "O" means screws/bolt, and pink "O" means clips.

5. Now the everything is removed and cleared out. Look under the dash and look for a white clip holding the plug for the oem cigaratte lighter. Remove it, and cut the electrical tape wrapping the plug/tube. Stick the aftermarket cigaratte lighter wires into the plug from the oem cigaratte lighter. Black is ground and yellow with green lines is HOT, will give you power once the car is keyed-on. Test if the aftermarket lighter works. It does? Great!

6. Place a female/male connect to each wire from the aftermarket cigaratte lighter and the new wires you plan to connect that two the lighter. Tape off the bottom of the connectors, might look ugly, but better safe than sorry. Remember, yellow with green lines is power (use the red aftermarket wires) black is ground. Tap into the oem cigaratte lighter's wires (remove some of the wire and solder some new wires to it, or use a wire tap-ins) and tape off the area you tap or soldered with electrical tape. I went with tap-ins because it looks better and easier. Feed the wires through the wire tube, then pull it up to the shifter area. Cable tie the tube to something so it won't interfear with the shifter.

6. Connect the female and male connects to each other. Make sure you're putting the right connecter to the right wire. Key-on the car and test if the lighter works. If it doesn't work, check your connections and try again. If it does, GREAT!!! Place everything back in place and you're all done.

7. What? Aren't we done? Just a few things I wanna say. You can do this DIY without removing the console inbetween the seats. I did that so I have more room to work with. I tried doing so without, but I failed, and ended up removing the thing. If you plan to use some tap-ins on the wires, make sure you tape the tap-ins to something, so it doesn't move. I didn't and the tap-ins was making noise (vibrating against some metal) when I was shifting hard.

Was this mod worthed it? I'd say yes. I've placed what have been there in the first place. Now I can change two cell phones instead of one. Took me around a total time of 3 hours to finish this project, buying parts and fixing it up.

I put mine last year when I replaced the radio. Got the 12 volt accessory socket from wallmart, hooked it up to the power seat circuit via "add a circuit" with a 10 amp fuze.
