Today I was setting the drop height on my KW V2 Coilovers. Really, all I had left to do on my install was torque the thread valve stem nuts down on all 4 corners. I had the driver side on jackstands while I adjusted the coilovers to my desired height. When that was done I lowered the car slowly back down with a 1/2 ton jack. It was settled on all 4 corners for not even 5seconds when the next thing I know- POW, the front driver side damper valve stem rod comes shooting out of the coilover!!!!!!!!! The rod came out with some force...right behind it came a plethora of purple oil contained within the shock housing.
Check the pics you can see a nice hole in the hood cover fabric along with purple goo splattered throughout my engine bay.

So what am I asking here?? WTF, can I do- Can I purchase more oil to load back down into this coilover or is it fu$cked now? I'm assuming its toasted since this rod is used to 'adjust' the damper valve... Do you guys think KW warranty would cover this since the coilovers have already been used for a few months?

I'm soo frustrated right now! And for the record I am not new to suspensions/coilovers.. I had an EP3 that I bought and installed KW V2s for. But right now things are not happy happy though.. :(

wholey shit man.. did it put a hole in your hood? cant tell.. call the manu of the coilovers and see if they will replace it free..

thats your best choice.. if they dont your gonn have to find one replacement, or whole set at worst case.. if you still have your stock put one of those on for now

The force exerted wasnt that great...No bubble or mark on the top side of the hood.

I'm just left with an incomplete install and who knows when I can get a replacement and have the car back up to enjoy. Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaack
I have sh!tty luck!!
