Hey guys-may be a silly question-but what does ep stand for? i have a 2002 Civic SiR(Canada) and found the site by accident-great btw!!
Also, just put steel wheels and snows on and noticed a noticeable improvement in zippiness. Now that i've experienced it I wanna keep this gain. Anyone have recommendations for an aftremarket 16 or 17" that may be as light?

Thanks!

EP3 is your/our chassis code(02-03 civic si) Just like the 92-95 hatchback's chassis is EG and the 96-00 Civic HB is EK. Just in case you wanted to know the rest. :D I had the Velox VX-8R for my old civic ex. 16" but VERY light. I forgot the weight http://www.wheelweights.net/ if you try that... it should help.

There was just a thread (not sure where, suspension forum maybe) that
talked about light wheels and had a link to a list of wheels, sorted
by weight. You should check that out.

In general, Volk makes very light wheels, but they are pricey. If you
want cheap but still good, check out Rota's.

Thanks a lot guys! I've been reading a lot of the posts on the forums and am really impressed with people's knowledge and also by how friendly it is! So far I've only done an AEM CAI and a borla cat-back. In the spring though I'm plannning wheels, and springs. Lots of votes for the Tein springs it seeems...

Hey Chris .... not out climbing tonight??? Good to see you found this site :) I almost went to VR tonight ... but caved and went out for supper instead.

I put on 15"x6.5" Konig Heliums (11lbs) and noticed quite an improvement over stock (which are a hefty 16 lbs). I almost went with the OZ superleggera which are available in 15"x7" (11 lbs), 16"x7" (13 lbs) & 17"x8" (15 lbs) ... but they were kinda pricey.

If your looking for a good place to pick up wheels, check out www.tiretrends.com. Highly recommended ... that's where I got my wheels from this spring. Another Canadian shop is www.1010tires.com ... a friend ordered Volks from them and was happy.

PS - I think there's a bunch of us going to Coyote on wednesday ... I'll drop you an email at work ...

Not trying to be a cock but no one ever gets this right, ever!!! all you have to do is go look at the vin yourself or go to autotrader.com etc...:

In the U.S. the chassis code for 96-00 hatchbacks and coupes is EJ, There is NO EK sold over here EVER. EK is for 96-00 type-R, SiR, and VTi hatches once again not in the U.S, unless you paid to have the EK chassis imported.

Again EG the chassis code is for 92-95 hatchback and four door civics is only in Japan. The 92-95 coupes code is EJ in Japan and the U.S..

The only EG civic chassis EVER sold in the U.S. was the four door civic.

If you don't trust me, then research yourself just to make sure.

Oh and 1010tires.com is a great site, I got 17" enkei's wrapped in dunlops, mounted+balanced, and shipped for under $1000.
