whats the deal with this? are there any alternative to sacrificing ur stock struts (besides mugen) ?

Mugen has the full coilovers, it's more than the shocks.
Tein, KW, JIC and maybe a few others offer coilovers as well.

As far as just shocks go, only the Koni Yellows will work. KYB and
Tokico are supposed to be developing shocks for the Si and should
have them out early next year.

Actually, the Mugen setup is really just sportier struts. They're not a "coilover" in the true sense of the word. They are a firmer, shorter version of the stock suspension.
