I am wondering everyones opinion on 5zigen wheels, I am looking at a pair of Copse's tonight. http://shop.store.yahoo.com/racinglab/5z5zrcorawh.html

They are 17" wheels, I emailed 5zigen and asked for the weights of the wheel and they said around 25lbs. I thought that was ridiculous. I may be able to get these wheels for a pretty good deal but I do not want to limit my performance that much. 25 lbs is around 6-7lbs more than stock and if I were to throw some Azenis on them that is 50 lbs a wheel I would be carting around. My car is just a daily driver and I do occasional Autoxing and visit the drag strip a few times a year. WIll these wheels slow me down that much??? I am stuck between goin with a 16" Rota Circuit 8 and the 5zigen wheels. The thing that gets me the worst is the weight of the wheels. What do you guys think Rota Circuit 8's or the "maybe" good deal on the 5zigens?????? Sorry for the long post

thanks

Personally, I would go with the Rota's, lighter, cheaper and you have more sidewall which leads to a better ride for a daily driver. My 2 cents

that is what I am thinkin, 25 lbs is a killer, I am gonna mount the 5zigens on the car tonight and see how they look. But I think I wanna go with the circuit 8's

if you're serious about auto-x ... i think you'll feel a difference between the 25 lb. Corpses and the significantly ligher C-8s. but it depends on what your looking for. if you're after looks, then it's your call. but if you don't want to sacrifice too much performace, i'd go with the lighter Rotas. even if it was just a daily driver, no auto-x at all, i'd still go with the Rotas. 25 lbs. a wheel is too much for my taste.

Sinse you asked, I would tend to think that those wheels are geared more twords the European tuner market. Dont get me wrong, what ever You choose will look bad ass, but thats just my opinion:)

yeah I have come to the conclusion that the 5zigen are just too big and weigh too much for my tastes. I am geared more to the performance than the looks, plus I believe that the rotas will still look badass.

Some of the 5zigens look nice, but they're too damn heavy. The only rim of theirs I'd consider is the Fighters.

The FN01R-C's are 16lbs for 16", 17 lbs for 17" and 18 lbs for 18". Here's the 17" in Hyper Black on my silver EP. Simple, classic look and flawless finish IMO.

Damn those FN01R-C's are nice. I was looking at exact same rims last year, but I'm a poor bastard and had to settle for rotas. I would pick those over copses because they flow better with our car. Copses look better on semi-luxury and low slung vehicles like Supras and Skylines.
