Anyone ever thought about putting EL lighted strip around the top hole on in the seat? Most likely in red - that turns on when you turn on the parking light. Im thinking it would add a nice effect to the car, and wont make it look "ricey".. anyone ever tried this? I bought the light already, waiting for it to ship, i'll post pics once installed.

I generally won't put any lights anywhere, besides the dashboard area. I think it will look ugly.

I test fitted the EL light today in the seat... maan you guys are gonna sh*t bricks when you see this effect. The wire is completely concealed behind the plastic and completly invisible both day and night, but at night (when I was test fitting) there is a soft red glow coming out of the hole in the seat, noticable.. but barely, to the point where people who have never been inside the EP will think its stock.. I will post day and night pictures once I complete all the wiring..

Cool. I really want to see the effect as I've already changed my whole dash/console/gage cluster to Red LED's.

..doing the install right now, i got the lights from Ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemWithCategory&item=3442212947) , but you can get them from like advance or pepboys, they just cost more... this is a real pain in the ass install.. I reccomend buying two of those things..

finished, its not night yet, so I dont know how it looks, but let me tell you, whoever designed those seats absolutly did not want those plastic things in the middle of the seat comin out. i wired it to the remote wire of the stero for now, until i can find the illumination relay. i will post pics later on tonight

so, im putting up the pics... these pics were taken at 7am in the parking lot of my office building.. in order to get the full effect, it has to be like pitch black on a highway or so. I have a little of the wire peeking out at the bottom to get it a little depth perception but in the pics its kinda the only thing you see.you cant see the wire in the day, and at night no one will notice unless you point it out or its pitch black where your driving. Then you get the "wow the seats light up, did it come like that?" from the person sitting next to you. (I got it like 3 times already) So it definatly looks cool. Im thinking a bright white wire would look even better. http://www.fudashionline.com/pics/Carseat1.jpg

it does look much better in person, in complete darkness... now that the harness is in.. i'll switch to a brighter white light... the plastic is semi transparent so it will glow through and be even better.. it is a pain in the ass to install though

Do you have any pic durring the day or can you even see it? or a pic of the lights you used? maybe you should think about doing an install for us so we know how to do it?

In the day you cant see it at all, and if you click on the EBAY I posted earlier, it will take you to a pic of the lights... If anyone lives in the Ft lauderdale/Palm Beach area and want to make a DIY, hit me up.

i dont get it at al...if you cant see the wiring in the day...how do you see it at night? does it shine through? ahhh!

DrunkMonk

it shines through the plastic, the plastic is kinda translucent... and its also shines through the crack, thats what gives it the glowing effect

Ooooo i get it now...that plastic doesnt look translucent at all
