I have to pick out some new tires so I was wondering if 225/55-16 was way too big and that it would rub? should I just go with 215/50-16 or 225/50-16? or 215/55-16? i dont want to drop $500 and get tires that rub. thanx for any help.

Well, I have 215/45-17 tires on my car and have no problems whatsoever, so I will be moving to 225/40-17 next time around. Just my 2 cents.

225/55-16 is huge for our car. It's about a .8" increase in overall radius. Can't tell you for sure if it will rub since I don't know anybody who has tried it, but as a reference Honda uses 225/45-17 on for the HFP package. Not only that, they reduced the maximum range of motion the wheels can turn to keep from rubbing at full lock. My advice is to stick close to stock with 215/50-16 of you don't want to rub.

if you are not lowered there is no way in hell you should have any problem with rubbing on 16's.
