i'm not due for an oil change for another 600 miles. The maintence required light on my dash flashes when i turn on the car for about 10-15 seconds. it has never done this before. any guess as to y would be great.

holy shit...we should make this a damn sticky....reset it, it's just telling you that maintanence is required soon...and I know, you don't know how to, when the car is turned off, hold down the trip odometer button...turn the car to on, but don't start it, the light will blink for a couple seconds then go off...you're good to go

flashes at 8k and stays steady at 10k. you reset it now and 8k from now it will flash and at 10k it stays steady. the light is there to remind you that a major(10k) service is coming up. it is a cycle. it's not fucking rocket science dumbshits.

Dorko? Holy crapballs!

No jk, but I think it's all in the manual. Read under the maint. light. It tells you everything if you just open it. P.61 If you are really that lazy...

Really, this does need to be a sticky. Then again maybe not. How many times did we cover the whole "mid-pipe" topic? HAHAHAHAHAH

quick fix.

1. With the car off, hold down the trip button.
2. Start the car, still holding the trip button down. (for 10 seconds).
3. Done, problem solved

BTW, honda dealers will charge you 180 bucks for this.

Just send me a check for 20!:D

if anyone would bother to look in the cars manual, it tells you how do reset that light within the first few pages...

but that only costs you 20k. because thats what you paid for the car.
