how come the rsx s vtec kicks in at 5800 an ours dont kick in at all ??

we only have 2 lobes.. rsxS has 3.. differnt engines

haha my vtec kicks in at 4100, but i got the vafc2

What would you consider "kick", I don't feel any hard kick in a Type-S. Like I would in a 94 Acura Integra GSR. Our ride isn't as perfomance driven like the Type-S, hence the 2200-2300 I-Vtec engagement. Oh well, that lower engagement helped me stay with a Type-S throught the first two gears :D

I consider the kick I feel at about 5k rpms...also shown on dynos

you don't "feel" VTEC like you do in the K20A2 (RSX-S) because the EP's engine doesn't have VTEC like most of us know it as.

It does have VTEC. It sounds like SOHC VTEC, a high winy sound that is heard just over the engin sound. We got VTEC on intake just like the old EG SI. VTEC kicks in approx 2200 rpm, and you can hear it very well. Kinda sounds like a mini turbo :P

yea ur right lol.. an annoying as all f*ck mini turbo. i wish my motor could just be quiet so my exhaust can do the talking

I always thought the a3 had a nice sound to it... I wish I could hear more of it over my exhaust, which isn't even loud.

i love the sound my motor makes. it just sounds like it means business. its kinda got that hollow breathy sound, u can hear it in the exhaust
