i began to think...
I know the vtec change over is @ 2.2k
but does it change over at idle?
SAY youre launching your car from a dead stop...
and of course no one is going to launch below 2.2k or else the car will bog like crazy (anyone with me on this?)...
so when we do launch at say 4k... when we rev that high during idle does it switch over? or are we still only launching w/ 12 valves?

now that i think about it... it doesnt really matter... but im still curious...:D

*EDIT*
sooo what im trying to REALLY ask is... is the vtec switch over in our cars based on engine load at all?

I believe under full throttle situtations the cams switch over at 4600-4800 rpms.
Maybe this article will help: Honda's K20A Engine (http://asia.vtec.net/article/k20a/index.html)

Why don't install an indicator light on the vtec wire. That way everytime you will see that the switch over is at 2200 rpm and you will get annoyed at the flashing light on your dash.
