If I had a turbo and it was installed and it got 8psi for boost, is there anyway I can like detune the boost to like 4psi so the engine will last longer? or would that lead to problems down the road?

depending on the turbo you have, and if you have boost controler...

you can turn down the boost to a certian level...it all depends on what spring you have in your wastegate...if its a 7pound spring then thats as far as your boost can be turned down to....

PM esmith13, or US_SI (ssvr6) they will know more detail then me

Eric

EDIT:

and if you are concerned about the engine lasting longer, just dont drive in boost all the time...boost normally hits about 3rpms on our car

why buy a turbo if you want to detune it to 4 psi, thats almost worthless. you also could run in to the problem of your car running to rich.
