I'm just wondering if anyone has gone wider than 205 on their stock rims? Is this even possible? My car needs new shoes and I wanna try and get the widest possible size. Thanks for anyone who knows.

bump with no search results answering my question

Dumbass question alert but I'm talking about the stock rims, not aftermarket 15x7's. Our wheels are 15x6.5 right? My question is what is the widest tire one can fit on a 15x6.5 rim? For anyone who knows....Can you fit 215x55x15 onto the stock rim?

oh, well maybe you should try it. I'm sure you can return the tires if they don't fit.

Check this out. http://www.whalentire.com/tiresize.cfm?w=215&a=50&r=15
Whalentire says that the minimum rim width that would fit the 215/50/15's is 6.0 inches. I'm pretty sure that the stock si rims are 6.5 inches so, they should fit. They dont have any tires that size though.

? who's "they"?

There's actually a few tires made in that size and in 215/50/15
Unless you were saying that no one makes any in 215/55/15...kuhmo does http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Sizes.jsp?make=Kumho&model=ECSTA+711

When i say "they" i am refering to that website that sells tires and wheels. It is called Whalentire. That website doesn't carry that size. I searched on tires.com and there are a couple tires on that site.

The rims are 15x6 I believe... here is a link to another thread with a picture of a stamp reading 15x6J 45:

Unless 'J' means 0.5"? I doubt it though. The offset is 45mm.

Well the hot setup for autoxing Integras has been 225s up front and 205s in the rear on the stock 15x6 rims. It will fit but you'll need to find a very cooperative tire guy who is willing to muscle the tire on :D

Since street tires tend to be narrower than R compounds in the same size I would be quite sure a 215 will fit.... I plan on sticking 225 R compounds on mine next spring.
