Mustang Dyno results= confusion

went to dyno tonight. Mods are CAI, dc header, 2 1/4 mid pipe and diy grounding kit. temp tonight about 45f, on stock rims/tires, 93 octane. Well I was the first 4 banger to go, all other rides before me were muscle rides putting down like 350-400rwhp. so i didnt know what to expect, but i got 2 pulls...

whp: 133.6 @ 79.0 mph
tq: 399.0 @ 41.0 mph(LOL!!!!!)

But I was told by others that mustangs dyno lower, a few peeps said to add on 16% which would give 155whp

Then the shops owners said generally that is the case, but with this dyno you add 25% =167whp, then another owner said no with this dyno it's 20% =160whp. nobody could say anything about the tq numbers.

To compare: a gsr with i/h =125whp, boosted civic ex=154whp. (sorry dont have all the info on their rides, wish i did)

I dunno, seemed like everyone had something different to add,...any thoughts on these numbers above?

btw, with all that tq, I can do wheelies going backwards now :D

well unless there was something seriously wrong with the GSR, you're putting down some strong numbers. GSRs usually dyno about about 145-150whp, i think. So if you figure this guy was putting down 150 with i/e, you're putting down about 158whp, which sounds about right with your mods.

You need to look at the power and torque number with RPM not MPH. Your torque number is actual torque at the wheels, the number is higher due to torque multiplication in the driveline.

We own an AWD Mustang dyno and do not multiply the HP and TQ numbers by a percentage to get "DynoJet" numbers. The only way to get Dynojet numbers is to dyno the car on a Dynojet (Although they vary from dyno to dyno). Although if you want accurate numbers the Mustang is the only game in town.

My car baselined at around 136 whp on our dyno completely factory stock.

Yeah, I'm done with that dyno. A few peeps on a local board were posting about how messed up their numbers were on the same dyno.

Sometimes it the way the people are operating the dyno, not the dyno itself.
