Taking my car in for tranny work...advice please

Any tips on how to go about doing this? I will be taking my car in for 2nd gear problems...sometimes it grinds, very notchy, sometimes pops out of gear, etc. The only argument I have right now is the TSB on the unusual shifting, unfortunately most of the problems are only noticeable when it is cold out or the car is cold. Any advice from people who've gone through this process?

My second gear grinds/ is really notchy too. Let me know what happens when ya go and try to get it fixed.
