Does anyone else with an aftermarket exhaust and silencer feel that there seems to be more low-end torque with the silencer on? I know there's an extremely slight restriction caused by the silencer, hence, the reduction of noise, but I notice a significant low-end difference. The car feels so much quicker with the silencer on.

Currently at work and just sharing a thought I had.

I think it has to do with more restriction, or just a mental thing.

Those silencers are usually a significant restriction. You may notice more low end, but I bet the overall power numbers will suffer.

i agree with jande ... definitely feel it on the low end but will lose overall power.

I agree. The low-end torque does increase with the silencer on, but 80-100 takes longer. Another thing I also noticed was that there seems to be an increase in the black junk sitting in and around the silencer. Last time I washed the car, I even noticed some of that black stuff even got up to the bumper (it did wipe right off). Thanks for the opinions all!
