DC Headers Question [Archive]

I installed my DC ceramic headers last night and noticed there arent any mounts to place back the factory heat shield. When I plugged the battery back and started the car up and was letting it run so the CPU can learn its new toy, i place my hand behind the header and it was really hot. Is there something im suppose to buy or is that just how it is? Thanks in advance.

If your that worried about the heat, you can always buy exhaust wrap.

Yeah, but you should be fine. There are lots of folks who roll without heat sheilds or wraps, but like fsugatorbait said. If you are worried wrap her up.

Me too. I don't have any problems. Only the smoking and the smell after i first started the car up and let it warm up to operating temp.

Yeah, that's just the way it is.

My DC ceramic header is for sale since I don't have an EP anymore btw. Check the sig for details.
