View Full Version : CTR engine vs ITR engine

What's the actual difference between the CTR and the ITR k20a engines? Yes I have searched, and I didn't find anything. Is it the same engine code? I know there is like a 20 hp difference.

European CTR is K20A2(200hp), JDM CTR is K20A(220hp) which I beleive is the same as ITR.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't think the JDM CTR comes with 220. I believe only the ITR came/comes with 220hp. I also believe the engine codes are different. I could be wrong though.

K20a2 is the same engine that the RSX-S comes with as well.

UK CTR = K20A2 = 200hp
JDM CTR = K20A1 = 215hp
JDM ITR = k20A = 220hp

Honda doesn't have a K20A1 engine. It hasn't ever been stamped
on any block or ever photographed. I'm fairly sure it's still the
K20A2, just tuned slightly, or there's a conversion (from bhp or
whatever it is to us hp) missing.

the jdm Ep3 has the K20A as the dc5 does......

the jdm dc5 and ep3 have lsds but the edm version doesnt my poor ctr

ok, the CTR has the RSX Type-S Engine and transmission.
While the RSX Integra Type-R has a uprated motor...higher compression, different cam duration and different ECU mapping. Also the DC5 ( integra or RSX Type-R ) has different gear ratios due to the smaller final drive...plus a limited slip differential.:D ;)

NO!

There are 3 cars we are talking about:
JDM EP3= K20A 220hp
JDM DC5= K20A 220hp
Euro EP3= K20A2 200hp and no LSD

And well...let's see what we get here in the US.

USDM: K20A3 160HP, hotrod motor with a 6800 RPM redline and 5-spd poorly geared transmission. :D My favorite.
