View Full Version : Need major help with shocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, today I ordered a set of Koni shocks. 2 front, 2 rear. While cruising the Koni site i saw this label under the 01-up civic heading.

8610-1415 Sport for 55mm outer diameter housing
8641-1416 Sport for 50mm outer diameter housing

I ordered 86411416 or the 50mm outer diameter housing. Was I supposed to get the 55mm outer diameter housing?? Please help before they approve and ship out the order. I need advice, did I order the wrong one? This is for the front struts. :(

I am pretty sure we need 55mm outer diamter housing. I know our springs are slighter wider than 7thgen civic's stock springs.So i am assuming that our setup is same as rsx's.

The only way to tell is to measure. Some ep3's were made with the same front suspension as the 2001+ civic coupes, and others share their suspension with the RSX.

You can't tell until you measure. I had to do the same thing for the camber bolts I used in my car. I was told they were the 14mm bolts just like the 01 and up civic coupe, but when I measured them, they were 16mm bolts, meaning i have the same front suspension as the rsx.

well I e-mailed Koni but no response yet. So the Si shares a suspension with either the 01 civics or the RSX? hmm, well I drive a 2002 does it make a difference. I believe this is the first year the EP's came out. Which was first RSX suspension or Civic suspension?

PS: Sorry for all the questions. Also I think someone on EPHatch has the koni's so he should know for sure.
