I really love the looks of the velox vx8 but i just hate it how its so heavy. I found these vx8's on ebay and was wondering if the weight they mentioned was true. 18.5 pounds is what they said. Here is the link

if these really are 18.5 pounds, id definitely give these a good look over for my future rims

yeah, they are VERY heavy... I had no idea either until I checked out some numbers... And that is understandable because of the bulk of the lip.... The 18"s are like 22 lbs

They're just a bit smaller, so you save a little weight.

Firstly, any upgrade in tires would be beneficial!! Those Michelins truly suck. And these wheels are definitely lighter than stock. I know there's a thread somewhere with the stock wheel weight. I think they're around 23lbs. ?? They look good and Velox are high quality, good purchase.

No Prob. . .BTW I noticed your photochop wheel choice, those are nice too, is the weight similar? Both are good looking wheels though.

wait, so some 18.6 lb 18"s will do about as well on my car as the stockies? if not better?

They are heavy...approx. 22lbs. I have some for sale + Michelin Pilot Sports (much better than the crap stock Michelins)...see my sig below for the link to them.

I discussed this topic with my buddy (MEchanic and drag racer). From what I could gather, as long as the new wheel/tire combo's HEIGHT does not exceed the stock height (and weight), which would add centrifugal--rotational mass, then you're good.

Thanks a lot man... so mine will slow it down a bit... 18"s with 40 series tires...

EDIT: Woah... never mind... they will be just about perfect... wont they?
