Just wondering if anyone has them or plans
on getting them. bmx269 was getting his installed when I was at A&J the other night. Man they are super light compared to the stock pulleys.

Obviously th power stearing pulley is not used on our cars.:smilem:

If they are much lighter than stock, I might think about it down the road.

Whats the cost on these? All the web site says is TBA.

They are the same ones as RSX. I don't know why they can't just update their site for a price of the kit without the P/S pulley.

They are a huge weight savings.
I plan to get them, just not any time soon, I have many other upgrades to make first.:smilem: with my zero money:confused: :sadm:

Do these pulleys underdrive everything, or are they just really light versions of our stock pulleys? Thanks

I had a set on an accord and ended up taking the alternator pulley off. I could not keep a belt on it. I re-mounted all the brackets to make sure everything was lined up (which it was not) and it still chucked belts every so often. the best I could figure is the alternator shaft hole, which is tapered, might not have been machined out enough for it to go all the way down. the guy that has the car now uses a 4 band belt and runs it offset one groove. maybe I got a bad set, or it was just my bad luck, but I was not pleased with them. just my opinion.

I think the crank pulley is the only one that underdrives. The stock belt is used with them.

You know that your going to get some for the Ep too.
Those look pretty sweet. You can allways buy the set with the P/S pully and sell it on e-bay or clubrsx.
Heitzke- I believe that they do underdrive everything.
The alt. pully is smaller, while the crank pully is larger.
Don't quote me on that though. It's just a guess.:)

The crank pulley is smaller than the stock crank pulley, the alt pulley is alittle larger than the stock alt pulley.

They are about 1/4 of the weight of stock.

You won't feel a difference on the butt dyno, but will see on a dyno several whp.

If you just use the crank pulley you will have to find a shorter belt 6 or 7 ribbed will do. If you use the crank and alt pulley the stock belt should work just fine.

hey v2.0, do you think that changing the alternator pulley will have an adverse affect if your runnin a 2 amp system, about 800 watts?

I have talked to Shawn Baumgartner at Unorthodox about the pulleys for our cars. They are going to be available very soon. They pulley set IS different from the type-s set. The Crank is either the same or very similar/usable, but the idler pulley will be totally different from the K20A2's p/s pulley and the alternator pulley will be different also. Last I talked to him, they were R&D'ing the set and it would be in production by now. That was about a month ago. I will call him after Christmas and find out what's going on with them.

From personal experience, I love underdrive pulleys. I put my "Scott Tested" seal of approval on them. They are the best bolt-on performance mod you can do. Always worth it.

fsugatorbait, It might dim the headlights when you're thump'in :D other than that it will be ok.

styllinep3, I paid over $275 for mine back then. $170 is a great price!

bmx269, pm'ed me and I got him fixed on the pulley belt prob ;) :D

Hey bio, did you notice any difference with the pulleys?

EDIT:Is there going to be any long term ill effects on the alternator by changing the pulley with the extra strain put on by a system?

I didn't notice anything, but a dyno will show some results 2-4 whp.

The alternator should last longer, because it is not working 100%. You might wanna put some capasitors with you system for the subwoofers, so the system can handle the thumpin strain lol.

thanks, I already have two caps in the back and dont get any dim of the lights now and would like to keep it like that but I've heard that it puts more of a a strain on the alternator by changing the pulley which is why I asked.

On a scale of 1-10 how would you rate the install?

It is a pain in the ass to remove the crank pulley. :) It is torqued on the crank at 181ft.lbs :( Takes a while with an impact to get it off. As for me and Bio's pulleys, we both have type S engines and alternators, so the pulleys are the right size for us, other than we don't have the top pulley for the power steering dummy. Its cool though. :)

Could you feel a difference with yours BMX? Is it really worth 150 bucks that you could spend on something else. Or is it one of those kind of mods that's kinda last on the list? Thanx

9 on the install if you have the right tools. I have the Sir tool, specially for the crank, but that alternator pulley is a pain to get off with out a very angled boxed end wrench, cuz I didn't want to take the alt apart.;)

As for the feeling of anything different, I feel that the car has a little more pickup, and better throttle response. I am sure there is a HP difference, its all part of the big picture for me, getting my car over 250whp NA. Every step counts.

Good work Trent, I have ordered a set of pulleys too. BTW: Thanks again for the ECU, It has not made it's debut yet. Next week!;)
