Please anyone help me to figure out why my K&N intake I just recently installed is back firing??? I think it's a valve problem but am not sure. Every few days out of nowhere when I press on the gas I hear a huge pope from my intake??!! Now I know this happens on exhausts but out of my intake??!!!! Please PM me if you can help thanks:o

This is fairly common with a sri. My Typhoon did it occasionally. Never caused any damage. Don't sweat it;) .

My super cool hybrid K&N/Ebay/Comptech SRI farted once after a hard acceleration run, it was right after I pressed in the clutch. I knew exactly what it was b/c I've read on here a bunch of times about it. Didn't really bug me, I kept driving ;)

this is very common so you shouldn't worry. Oddly enough my intake has never backfired once??

My observation has lead me to believe it only happens when I'm going from 1st to 2nd and I don't rev it high enough or I take too long to shift. Also this has happened when the car is cold.

I dunno, just my $0.02

Just wondering did any of you reset the ECU on your car? I am wondering if the ECU just needs to be rebooted to get the right A/F mix and timing for the car with the intake.

I've had my Typhoon for about 8 months now and its happened about 4 times to me. No big deal. I did reset the ECU when I installed it.

it's a change in air pressure, nothing mechanical.
