i head to wellsfargo to make a deposit for work.. then to the gas station to fill her up..and pumps stops at like $6 something and says on screen stopped by cashier.. im like wtf? so i look around.. 3 pumps over the attendent comes running out with a pesticide type spray thing filled with some anti flamitory i assume and starts spraying.. my guess was about 2-3gal on the ground.. so anyways they turned the pumps back on and i get back in the car drive to office.. and now i smell like gas.. REALLY bad..

all it would taken was some smoker to drive by and toss his cig and boom! instant death for me and ep3 and the rest of the ppl at the station.. would of been sad to there was 2 cops in the parking lot getting food at mcdonalds.

so just thought id share my story.

I was in the car with my scoutmaster once and he stopped at a gas station to fill up. He gets out of the car and fills up. Upon returning to the car, he realizes that he had left then engine running! Luckily nothing happened, but MAN! That one's on my list of "Near-death experiences".

i never thought of those kinds of things happening at a gas station before until hearing this...scary thought

i only think of funny stuff cuz i witnessed someone forgetting to take off the nozzle thing off their car wen they were done and drove off ripping the whole thing off and just driving off with it on their car...

due to numerous lost gas caps and gas stains on the side of my car (always after waxing) I only fill my tank now, no gas jockeys go near my baby.

p.s. I like the smell of gas..........weird?

OK I live in Jersey, and yes it is illegal to pump your own gas, but from time to time there is a gas station with like 20 pumps and 1 running around Fiji manning the pumps,So I get out and fillerup myself, and I always leave the engine running, I don't know why people panic about that.

How could you let gas spill on your car? Man I stand there shaking the pump like 100 times when I am done just so a drop doesn't fall on it. Guess I am just super protective of my "child":D

Shake it a few times and then pull the Nozzle away quick enough, never had a prob yet.

Oregon also bans pumping your own gas, the reason is so people in rural areas can have more jobs, albiet low paying ones, it may be the only buisness out there. The attendants are very nice and professional, never spilling gas or even putting a greasy finger on your paint, won't wash your windows if he sees your car is clean, and generally they are not jackasses, it's all very 50's leave-it-to-beaver idyllic.

However

The downside is that in citys you have total chaos, with like 2 attendants trying to pump 10 cars, running around and making a general mess. It also raises pump prices.

Lucky I live in Vancouver, right across the Columbia so I can fill up on cheap do-it-yourself Washington gas.
