I'm planning to order some Autotechnic indiglo gauges. I was just wondering how difficult it would be to install? Could someone help me out? Thanks in advance!

Indiglo gauges are very simple to install. Once the cluster is out just wire power and ground and you should be all set. If you need help just bump this thread when you get ready for the install. ;)

yup, yup!! Took me 20min to do it my first time... Then I made a change to them and it only took 10 min the next time. ;)

I recommend cutting out the white part that covered your blinker and high beam signals... It looks alot better IMO.

Here's DJAddicted's S7's:

And here's mine with the extra white parts cut out:

I think it's a cleaner install cut out like that. ;)

I would love some of those guages, but im afraid of what the install takes... where can i get these guages, and how exactly do i install em?

Their on eBay all the time. Expect to pay $80-$90 new.

Install is simple -
Two screws to remove dash bezel
Two screws to remove Guage cluster
unplug two wiring harnesses from cluster
couple of screws to take plexiglass off of cluster
overlay guages over factory ones (need 2min of minor assembly first)
Put cluster back together
install cluster and splice a ground wire a a 12V+ wire that's on with running lights
install dash bezel.

20min first timer install, nothing you can break and screw up!
(unless you can't find the power and ground wiring points ;))

My only recommendation:
It comes with a control for dimming the guages because the cluster's dimmer switch "supposedly" won't dim the lights - BUT - if you tap your running light 12V+ from the cluster's own wiring harness, you WILL be able to use the factory dimmer dial and you can stuff the S7 guage's controls behind the dash when you install them.

Now, if we could figure out a way to get rid of the APC logo and replace it with a Honda logo or something... then we can talk. I hate APC quality

Yeah, dude - What Brettnyt said!! :D

That is a "AC" logo. These are "AC AutoTechnic S7 Guages".

APC dosen't even make guages for our cars... yet. ;)

And for the record since you probably never heard of them - AC AutoTechnic has been making guages for all makes and modles of cars for many years - it's their specialty. I personally thought for overlays - they were VERY high quality. The numbers and punchouts for the dash lights line up PERFECTLY!!

But that's OK Speck - I see how it is... I put ONE APC product on my car and there you go assumin the worst -- that I went straight downhill from there! ;)

Very nice/clean looking gauges. At first, I was skeptical expecting the typical ricer blue/green glow but I am plesantly surprised by the fit, finish, and look of these gauges. They would be perfect for those with aftermarket CD players that have non-amber displays. It would definitely help the interior come together and match once again! Thumbs up! :D

alls that's to it is the plastic guage overlays... and the wires attached to them.

Sorry, no pics from before tho...

here's an ebay auction with a pic of the guages uninstalled... you can't see the wires tho...

Hey E, when you take your next set of pics, take one of the cluster at night as you would see it kinda from the drivers eye, not up close.

Thanks bro!!

01-24-2004, 05:28 AM
Sorry Speck - I SWEAR I will get them done at nightfall tonight...

rs_1101 - How's That?? All's they do it sit on top of the existing guages and can be taken back off in 5min - literally! The only thing you "modify" if you can call it that is you have to tap a 12v+ and Ground wire somewhere - but you have to do that to install a sub or amp too...

Someone is fuckin wit'cha

Eric

Don't think they look too good at daytime, the bit with the numbers on looks cream coloured?! and i don't like the way the number go upside down roung the dial.

But they look good at night! really striking. like the colours too:cool:
