Well, we are really getting hit hard here in Portland! These pictures are in front of my house. And this is the valley floor, in a city of hills! I love the snow, since we hardly ever get it, but it really blows not being able to drive my new ride.

You see, when we get hit like this here in the Pacific NW (where we're used to rain all winter, except in the Mts.), the whole city just shuts down!! Right now the temps are in the teens and the freezing rain is coming down. Hardly anyone went to work, all the schools are closed and there are very few cars on the road.

I'm sure you peeps in Colorado, Minnesota, North & South Dakota, etc. are used to this everyday. But here, everyone panics. Hahah. Man, I wish I could drive her :'(

It's pretty messy up here in Vancouver too.

Yeah, no school today, and school was just canceled for tommarow... Had 50 mph winds here as well as the snow this mornin... No car on top of my car, but the sides were covered and we have mini snow drifts...

Wow, it's so unusual to see how other parts of the country come to a grinding halt when they get a few inches of snow. Hell we got about a foot here in November and didnt miss a beat. I just got up an hour earlier to shovel my car out. I mean it looks like you got about an inch or two in that pic. I'll just give you a quick look at what I'm used to dealing with. The "bump" in the background was my gti. The "bump" in the foreground is my girlfriend's cavalier.

Wow, that is really amazing. No, nothing like that ever around here. We got about 8 inches here in the valley, probably a little more in the hills...but it's really dry and the strong winds are blowing it around. On tv it's basically non-stop news reports all day.

Holy crap, that amount of snow would shut us down for at least a couple days.

The big problem here is that no one knows how to drive in the snow.
Some people panic and go 10kmh, others blindly bomb down the road at 120km/h in their SUV's, then they smash into each other causing chaos and traffic jams.

We also only have like 35 snow trucks, compared to Toronto who have like 670 trucks.
