Here is what your oil pump/balancer assembly looks like.

You can see the balancing shafts in the second picture.

It bolts down with the same 2 bolts in the front and 1 extra side bolt. The K24 block is machined for the extra bolt to do the swap, although it is not used with the balance shaft assembly. You will also need the type-s windage tray ($20.00), although there may be clearance issues with the K24.

Just to be clear, those first 2 pics are from the K24.

Still having trouble getting my head around this one from your pics.
So it should bolt right on? How much time do you think is involved with the swap with the motor in the car.

Also do you think there is any issues with differences in flow rate/pressures between the pumps?

SiRman - The picture of the type-S pump is upsidedown compared to the K24 pump/balance shaft assembly.

The pump/pick-up assembly should bolt right on the K20A3 engine. Honda's pumps are usually all the same flow/pressure for a given engine series. I am sure that their flagship K engine would not have a pump that is inferior to the A3's pump.

I would guess that it would take a good mechanic about 5-6 hours to do the swap. Mainly because Honda glues the front cover and oil pan on the car and you have to cut them off.

The main reason I was wondering if maybe the pressure was too high.

Sounds like it's a pain in the ass to do, but probably be a good mod for the dollar, as long as you do it yourself, and don't have to pay for labour.

So do you guys think this is a worthwhile mod??

The A3 in the base RSX uses the same oil pump so it should be ok.

You may need some other goodies like RSX timing chain. I haven't done this mod, just looked into it. Some people claim HP increases of up to 10 HP (on other cars) I don't think anyone's tried it on an EP yet, so it's hard to say what the hp gains would be for us.
