Defintely get a mechanical one (DC5R, Quaife, etc.).

Get the Quaife unit if you can afford it, or since you mostly drive on the street, just stick the the DC5R LSD which is a decent unit. The Quaife is a better unit however. It's a lot beefier, stronger, will take a lot of abuse and it reacts quicker.

Quaife is the best diff. for a street car. Cusco's and Kaaz are very aggressive. 1.5 and 2 ways don't work for street use. Type R will work decent till ya boost it. :)

It took me till Mr.TecH7 post to get what you said. I guess I am just way to much of a car nut.

I am also thinking about going LSD. when I get my turbo I feel that I just wont be able to get any traction. I will need one that will be able to handle boos and will be good for autocross and street use. Any suggestions?

How loud are these LSDs? I don't know if you guys will mind but from what I hear from hachi guys, the Kaaz and Cusco ones are loud.

Loud, like exhaust sound?

I haven't heard one myself but from what I hear from people who have them is that it's something like grinding/moaning/crunching... Basically, you HEAR it working. If you don't mind hearing those noises that make your car sound like it's gonna fall apart, go for it. :D

I dunno, maybe it's not that bad but some people don't like it for everyday use.

I'd go with Quaife for no other reason than the lifetime no-questions-asked warranty.
