Would You Trade This In For An EP? *PICS*

I've been thinking alot lately about purchasing a new Taffeta(sp?) White SI and getting rid of my modded 1992 Nissan 240SX, with an SR20DET in the works. My question is, If you were me, what would you do? Would you ditch the S13 for a FWD Honda or keep the drifter and finish building the 400 HP turbo motor? I'm pretty big on being different in building cars and so far there arent many EPs modded in my area, but I've also been told that I have a pretty decent 240. So...keep it or sell it for the EP? Please help me decide. Here are a couple of pics to show you what I'd be giving up.

I donno man that is one sweet 240sx. I dont think you would be happy with the front wheel drive si. Do whatever you feel is right though. Dont base your decisions on what people you dont even know think.

I think you'd be a fool to give up your S13 for an EP. I mean the EP will definantly be a more up to date car, blah blah blah. But seems like you've already put a lot of time and effort into the S13. I wish I would of gotten an old school AE86 hatchiroku and pimp'd the shit out of that thing, Toda suspension, Toda motor, hella sweet ride and still come out cheaper than my EP :D :p

I say finish up what you started and then turn around and sell that piece once/if you get bored of it. I'm sure a nicely built RPS should fetch a pretty penny with the drift craze that's just hitting the states all mainstream now.

wow, what a difference a year makes... last year, everyone would be like: Ditch that old Nissan, buy the EP. But nowadays with the drift fad in full effect everyone jocks the shit out of that car. Dont get me wrong, its nice, id like one, but IMO the ep is a much better all around car.

Yeah, seriously. Up until recently, a lotta people thought the RPS13 and especially the S13 were pieces of junk. But now everyone wants to get into the drift thing and find a hachi or 240. Not cool. I mean, I think drifting is awesome and I've been watching drift videos way before Best Motoring or Option videos were decently subbed but now you see everyone wanting to drift this and that. :rolleyes:

I'm torn on it.

I LOVE drift cars. I LOVE RWD imports.

However, I'm kinda sketchy on 240's. My best friend wants one but I can NOT stand flip up lights and the rear is so ugly.

The EP has the dash shifter and a pretty nice platform to build on, I think, but, it seems as if you'd be a little happier finishing the 240SX with an SR20 (did you say DET? if so, most definately finish it) and see how you feel then. You never know what that swap will do to your feelings for the car.

Thanks for all the opinions guys. I think I might still go with the Ep though. It was late when I posted that and forgot to add one of the most important details. Basically I now need to pick up my daughter from the baby sitters and the 240 (and most sports cars) have an extreme lack of a backseat. So when it sells (hopefully monday) I will go pick out an SI. I will miss this car more than anything, but driving it in the snow for the 1st time with the mods I've added its not the safest winter car. Hopefully the EP will prove to be much better. BTW, if anyone is interested, the 240 is for sale for $6000 (over a $5k loss on my part) , but is more than likely sold as of monday. If you are interested in it let me know and we'll talk. So it looks like you guys will be seeing me alot more in the near future, hope you dont mind. :D

if you want safe in the snow and family-friendly, go for a wrx 4-wd.

Wow, beautiful car with so much in it. Personally, I would keep it. You're probabaly just getting bitten by the new car bug....You have to realize that the EP is a nice car but it would probably take some $$ in mods to get you anywhere close to your current status....Just my $.02......

it is a nice s13, but the car is getting old, and it is time to change, maybe u should get the EP... or though it is a much slower car, u would still have fun with it buy mods like hondata ecu, and other bolt ons, and i know for sure that the EP's power will last pretty long......

The only way you should even consider doing this is if there is something you aren't telling us. Like you can't get the motor in and aren't willing to pay for the install or something like that. If you can get that motor in this is a no-brainer. Keep the 240.
