you can basically take any k block and head and slap them together...

k24 swap
k20a swap
k20a2

k20a3 block and k20a2 head

k24 block and k20head. etc etc etc etc.

dont know what anything costs tho lol

Easiest, most cost effective = K20A2 (RSX Type-S)
You can find a full swap for about $3,000 +/-
Sell your stock K20A3 for about $2000 +/-
And you get 40HP and 6-speeds for about $1000.

Or if you step in shit you might actually be able to make money on the deal. ;)

thanx for the replies...

would i have to change the computer or just have honda reprogram it?

Anti theft... could i swap the engine, computer, and Key from the same RSX-S. and every thing works together without computer modifications?

If ur looking I'd say get the K20A2 (RSX Type-S Motor)
$3000 - $5000
And get a ITR or CTR the 6speed trannyis about $1000-2000.
I'd wait for the CTR and ITR tranny because they have the L.S.D

The reason why I'd choose these swap over the CTR and the ITR motor is because the K20A2 only needs 91octane gas which we have. ANd the Type-Rs require like 96octane gas to be effective. I think there recommand 100octane. but thats only for those Japan highest we can get is 94octane so up to u. this is just my 2cents

You can keep your keys, just bring it to the honda dealer when your done and they will reprogram the new ecu.

the ctr tranny doesn't have a lsd

only the dc5r tranny does.

ctr is just a rsx-s

DarkSiRacer

The CTR DOES have an LSD.

And a Type S can't be compared to a Type R.

the rsx-s is (drivetrain wise) very similar to the ctr.

Payntech

How much and how expensive would a k24 build cost...
power gains, etc

Payntech

Depends on what you want done to the K24/what you are going to with it?

That'd be stupid of honda to make every other type R w/ an LSD except the EP-R :*

It does use the k20a2 tho....

1) where can i find the best deal(s) on a k20a2 motor, tranny, and ecu? that is all i need for the swap right?

2) so if i was to do a k20a2 swap and wanted to add LSD to the 6 speed tranny what would be my best bet?

That doesn't make the first bit of sense.

He must've blown up his K motor and had the H motor sitting in the garage.

No, not easy at all.

I wish we could see the car and talk w/the owner.

There are certainly a lot of die hard H22 fans around, but I don't think most of them would do that swap.

What's heavier? An H22 or a K24?

the k20a2 is in the uk ep-r but has a lsd

This is not correct. Gasoline octane is measure different in the US and Canada than it is in Europe and Japan. 95RON = 90PON (R+M/2).

Mighty_Mouse

95 octane in Japan equals 90 octane in the US. That makes 93 octane in the US equal to about 98 octane in Japan and Europe.
