Totally not rice, those are JDM pieces from the Type-R.

So did you just pull out the red part of the door and put it on your stock panels? Cause they're for RHD right? The carpet will be fine but you might have to cut out holes for your mat hooks.

*clap clap*

I ended up using the whole JDM panel, just had to switch out the window control buttons off of my original ones.
Shawn(Hillier) and I were discussing if it was actually do able or not without taking out the red insert. Guess it is:)
As mentioned above, the only thing that I lost was my unlock/lock button. Since they sre RHD in Japan, their button is on the right, the only way to modify that, will be by making a hole for it.

The only part where Im puzzled for the carpet, how is the pedal rest going to work, I guess Ill find out tomorrow.:)

Why wouldnt you just swap out the red inserts? Wouldnt that solve the lock/unlock button problem? Is there a difference in the door panels besides the red insert?

1)Easier said than done, in order to take out the inserts you would have to cut them out, then glued back on. They are not a pop out/pop in situation. Here, this is what it looks like;
(as you can see, the plastic is melted around the insert, Im not saying its not do able, its just time consuming)

2)No.

id slice along that seem.. then epoxy it back together on the original doors...

Like I said before, I didnt say its not do able, Im sure I would of figured something out. But why go through all that if I dont have to. I dont use my unlock/lock button anyways. Thats what your hand is for when you are inside and thats what the alarm is for when you are outside:)

Also, Ill get to put the stock ones back on when ever I want. without having to cut and glue again.

True.
Also, I was just stating what I would do, not inferring you should too. Sorry.

quick question that may seem entirely obvious: is the jdm red carpet made of the same 'pile' as our black carpet?

SiR_d1

Im having the most difficult time finding a JDM CTR Carpet, seeing your makes we want it even more

that's why i was asking about the type of the carpet...it can't be terribly expensive to find an upholstery shop and say, "hey, can you redo my car in red carpet?"
