i just noticed that my seat belt has been rubbing against my seat and it looks like if the belt keeps hitting the seat i'll have a hole in the seat. has anyone else had this problem and would it be cover by the bumper to bumper 3/36 warranty? thanks

Yes, I have that problem as well. It's basically a design flaw. There's no way to position the seat comfortably and not have the belt rub against it. This could easily have been remedied by designing a plastic pad into the side of the seat for the seatbelt to rub against. It could even have matched the red plastic in the hole in the headrest. But, it looks like they never thought of this, so we'll be stuck begging the dealers to do something about it. But I doubt they will. You could try using one of those shoulder pads for the seatbelt that they sell in every "tuner" shop. Maybe you can even find one that's not hot pink. It'll look bad, but it might save the seat.

I got the same problem with the seat belt markings. I didn't realize it was happening till I had around 5k miles on the car. When cleaning the seats, I was like..... no way.... After that time on, I just used a scraf and wrap the head rest area. Making it nice and all, and the seat belt doesnt have contact with the seat anymore.

I highly doubt the dealer would replace the seats. The reason is because the damage is through more use and wear, not a defect.

Does anyone have a more permanent solution than wrapping the seat with a scarf? I've noticed that the seat belt rubs on my car too :(

yes ,,, you can buy a two separate shoulder pads then put them together. i did mine like that and it looks more better.the seat belt doesn't rub at all and looks way better. make sure you take out the name of the second one then live the other one with the brand name.

i noticed this problem too when i first bought the car. one year and 15K miles later, it's really no worse than it was the first month. meaning it seems most of the wear occurs within the first couple of months.

initially it ticked me off too, but now i hardly think about or notice it.

Interesting setup you have there, definitely looks like it would cut down on the rubbing. I might try it out sometime.

yes....better than covering your carseat.it looks better as well than before with one shoulder pad plus the seat and the belt doesn't rub meaning no holes.....plus you dont need to get a seat cover fro your stock seat.
