It was a very long install when I did it. I followed the K-series.com instructions.

-Need to remove intake.
-Jack Stands and good tools are a must.
-Hope that your rear motor mount isn't already cracked (mine did).
-Install the rear insert first.
-Front motor mount must be removed for easy installation.
-Loose the nut that holds the transmission in place a lot so you can rock the engine back.
-To put the front motor mount back in, the use of your 2 legs is better than a bar (kick and hold the engine so you can position the MM in).
-When putting those bolts back (especially those near the rear MM), put them back in reverse order and don't tighten them until you get all the bolts "in". If you find a bolt that's out of position, jack up the transmission to align the bolt. Do not remove the jack until you tighten all the bolt or you'll risk cracking the MM.

Mine was a very painful install. The motor mount broke/cracked and it took about 3 weeks for the new MM to come in. Taking the cracked MM off required 2 C clamps, 6hrs and some luck. Other than that I could of done the install around 5-6 hours.

I just got done talkn to my buddy that owns a shop. He said he would do it for 40 bucks and it would take him about 1 hour. Think I'll spend the 40 bucks:D

If I knew someone who has done the install before, it would of helped a lot. I think I can do the install in 2 hours min., but a shop has airtools and would be faster. Unless that guy know exactly what he is doing, no way he will be able to finish the install in one hour.

To answer your question, I wouldn't mind paying 40 bucks, but I like working and improving my car. In the process of doing things myself, I learn and I think I actually enjoy doing things myself, despite all the headache and work.

I am totally the same way but, I don't wanna go and possibly brake something just because I wanna do it myself. Especialy when I can help him do it and learn the correct way the first time:D

Wouldn't it be easier to just use a hoist to take the weight off all the motor mounts at once? Then install the esmm.

Weight of the engine isnt a problem, because there are still 2 bolt holding up the engine. The problem is limited space you have to work with.

Hey just make sure that if it does take more than one hour that they dont charge you more.

I may have access to a pit, which means I won't *have* to jack the front of the car up. Do I still need to get the front wheels off the ground to put these in? Aren't the lower control arms or something attached to the subframe?
