I want to install an in-dash lcd screen in place of the stock head unit. Any suggestions as to where to place my reciever? since it wont fit on the dash.

Pioneer makes an LCD screen you can put in the dash that comes with another unit that you can put in your trunk that has the radio tuner and all that stuff. Then you can control it all with a remote through the screen in the dash. That's what I'm looking at doing.

Here's the two part numbers you would need
AVD-W6000 is the monitor
AVM-P9000R is the "brain" for the unit
You can check them out http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/Pioneer/CDA/CarProducts/CarAlbum/0,1427,40~4010~4010200,00.html

that crap is expensive... what I was thinking about doing is taking out the stock head unit and that opening under it and put an lcd there. I've seen lcd's for as cheap as $65 that you can install into anything. Then run whatever you want to that screen...as long as you don't play Fast and Furious on it 24/7 it will be ok.

Where would you install your head unit then?

Well I already have a cheap Pioneer CD player(better than stock) and I was just going to relocate that in the glove compartment....rather that the stock one cause it's front panel is funny shaped(just that one corner) Another possibility is that empty space next to the emergency brake.
