I'm about to do a rear sway install but don't want to start it if the allen head stud will strip like a 2 dollar hooker. Who has not had a problem with proper pre-spraying of liquid wrench and having all the correct tools. Thanks

I had no problems when inserting the allen wrench to take off the sway. Make sure it is in there well, then spray WD-40 on the threads. Also gentle start to turn the nut, should come off fine. I wouldn't spray anything into the hole for the allen wrench.

It's not a problem with the spray lubricant and a good set of tools (long reach allen keys).

Make sure you use the correct metric hex key instead of SAE, then you wont mess up anything.

Okay after my ss install today in my cousins garage I soaked the end link nuts down with liquid wrench and am letting them sit over night. I'm going to first use a 14mm deep socket and a breaker bar to free the nuts then go from there with the allen wrench. I'll post pics when I'm done with the install.(hopefully) ;)

this is my second winter. thats like 6 months of shit. like a 1 year and a half of road wear period . i did use wd 40, and no love . there just shitty endlinks, and dont like age and weather i guess.

No problem at all. BTW, WD40 is probably the worst lubricant on the planet. Do yourself a favor and get a high-quality penetrant.

if they strip just get some needle nose vice grips, and grab the endlink on the back side of the sway. where the big ring washer is . that worked great for me.

Thanks for all the help guys, this is the cars first winter and the endlink pins had a little rust on them, nothing major at all. I bought some of the new improved liquid wrench with teflon I hope that shit works.

I've installed two sway bars..first the type s and then the comptech. First time I didn't know about the allen wrench thing and just used some needle nose pliers and it worked fine.

Then when I installed the comptech sway/tie bar combo, I used the correct tools/allen wrench and still no problems. I never sprayed anything.

Two installs on both of my EP's and not a problem, one went through a NE winter too.
