wORK= stunner wheels

Those things are dogs man, look how much they weigh. I like jdm, but I dont like jdm that just looks good. Those works are a prime example...I dont care if they are super strong. 17lb in 16"? lol thats so heavy. Oh and our stocks weigh 19lb

Those 16" will be the equivilent of a stock wheel basically because of its larger rotational mass.

I agree with Dunrick. I really like the way the Works look. I'm not 100% sure how much they cost, but they are not the lightest. For example, volks in 16 x 7 are 11.2 pounds. Or, another example is the Kosei K1 from tirerack in 15 x 7, it weighs 13 pounds. So, the work is 2 pounds heavier. Just ask yourself what you want out of your rims. If you really love the way the works look, then go for it. Your EP won't be that slow. Stockers (15 x 6) are 19.5 pounds approximately, so works are still lighter! Hope that helped.

Dont get me wrong, I wasn't out to flame works. They are awsome looking wheels. I would probably own a pair if they were light. I just dont know why the spoon cars are equiped with them. There must be a lightweight version in japan. Anybody know?

Dunrick - I've often wondered the same thing. It would seem like Spoon could so easily make the SW388's in 17" and have a much lighter, and equally strong rim. I was VERY surprised the first time I heard how much the Works weighed. I just assumed since Spoon seemed to be running them on all the new Chasis cars, that it would be an incredibly light rim. If you find out, let us know.

p.s. Dave @ RandDMotorsports was having a sale on a different Work rim and in the 15 and 16" sizes, they were still not cheap. It's got to just be for the name, I can't figure it out. Well, the name and the look.

Here's the link to Dave's post on the other work rims:

my slips are lighter than those works you posted...and you get 4 for the price of 1 1/2.

I think ontop of the Work EMo being very heavy, the Spoon car sports 18" - the ep3 and the dc5 both. Strange....spoon must need money, i can not think of any other reason why they would sport those wheels.....

Ahh...You guys do know that Work makes forged wheels too.
You guys are looking at the CR a cheaper cast version.

Here's the real deal: http://www.worksuperwheels.com/wheels/emotion.html

And I don't think Spoon uses the cast ones.

17lbs for 16s are really good... almost perfect... too light and they slip easier... too heavy and they take up too much power to turn... is that weight for the wheel itself or with rubber?

I'm pretty sure that's the wheel itself.

yeah this is the cheaper version one the cast, i think spoon would not wanna use this, they uses the forged one instead. Plus i assume the forged one would cost a arm and a leg for us. so Work made the cast 1 for us.
im really having hard time deciding on rims, ive been deciding since last summer. its time to get a set before summer,
here are the list of the contenders.
Work Emotion CR
Rota Grid
Volk United Arrows SO5
Rota Slips

On black car!!!!!
which one would look sexy?

track cars... it seems when it comes to tracks to some ppl... power isnt that much of an issue... 18's actually feel better than anything smaller if you have a good setup... jus take hella power to turn

From what I've been told they are not 18's.
They are 17x8 with something like 22mm offset.
5 degrees of neg. camber up front
and 3 degress of neg. camber in the rear.

just look at them man. those are definitely no 17" Those are a 40 series tire atleast

you can also tell by the brakes...they are the stock size. and I KNOW the 17" stock wheels that car comes with does not make the brakes look that small....

I agree the pic def. looks like a 18", but I've been told that they run 17". Maybe they where testing with 18's in that pic or something.

Here is a pic of a def. 18":
