If another member is selling his Hondata reflashed ecu

and i want to buy it

all we have to do is

swap my ecu and our imobillizer's correct?

or will they not work

Cliff's notes..........

I have no hondata
wanna swap with someone who HAS hondata

will it be a direct swap if we swap imobilizers?

The keys are also coded if I'm not mistaken.

you need a Honda PGM tester to reprogram the imobillizer to work with the new ECU.

You can swap the ECU's only and have them reflashed at the dealer for about 60 bucks. They will obtain the iN code for you using your VIN. Do not swap imobilizers, that gets you into more trouble, as was mentioned they are matched to your keys.;)

Yes you are. Keys are cut to work in the cylinder they are cut for. ;)

The key slot is a cylinder with pins.

Quite a bit easier to pay the $60...

Good luck with that...more trouble than it's worth and may even have implications regarding the ability to flash again to a diff ECU...I'm quite sure that the immobilizer is tied to a network ID and your VIN. I think you would loose the ability to obtain a proper iN code in the future if you wanted.:D

Just change the ECU's go to a dealer have it reprogrammed and be done with it.

If you pay the $60 and have it reflashed at the dealership, won't that take away the hondata reflash?

Never. The dealer is only matching the immobilizer code.
The reflash...I will quote Hondata: "It should last more than 100 years".

I think it could last as long as the lifecycle of the hardware.
