he's in FL. nearly 0 elevation, humidity *might* be a factor, but
it's been cool/little humidity of late. A close to 3 second 60ft.
will absolutely kill your 1/4 mile time, though.

Hey thanks!

Yea i know my times sucked out at the track this past weekend..but i had more shit on my mind than ne thing else. I wasnt really in the state of mind to be running really good. My Shifts sucked, I was launching at 2500-3500, and shifting at about 6500, I have gotten alot of threats from Tamparacing.com, so bad that i had to change my SN on that site.

Pretty bad when u have to watch your back because people want to harass you because the way your car looks, or because they are internet hard asses.:(

I would say the next Track day i will be running better. These past few months have been pretty hard for me. Job, gf, work, car, work, home, insurance, work...you get the picture.

But I do want to thank everyone for not putting me down for crappy times, TR thats all they talked about, sayin this was for 15 and lower cars...well i paid my 30 and enjoyed it. The best part was seeing Cheryls face when she hit the high 16's.:D

Thanks again everyone on Ephatch.com you guys are like a family away from my family.

Chris

OH and its my girls car..she does what she likes:angel: the 420A is a joke! buying a turbo kit for that is a waste, you might as well flush the money down the toilet. tell your girl if she wants a turbo eclipse to get a real AWD 4g63 powered one!

Having fun is all that matters. Don't let anyone spoil your fun and the fact that your girl enjoys going is awesome. Driving a slower car will actually help your driving technique and make you a better driver when you get into faster times. Do you think John Force started out w/ 300 mph passes? Anyway, work at it and have fun. The pics are excellent. Maybe I'll come out that way and try your track. I've been going to Moroso in Palm Beach for years and it would be nice to go somewhere different. C-YA

Hell yeah he did. I'm not going to take up racing until I'm in a 4-sec car.

:D

Seriously, though, looks like fun (what can't be fun about racing, anyway?), and the pics are great (got 'em in bigger sizes?).

Now, my question is how to lower the 60ft times. Revs at launch? Shift point? Reaction time? Put bubblegum on the tires?

yea my reaction time needs to drop a bit, and the track was EXTRA STICKY. I was launching at 3-35k, but shifting at 6k or alittle higher, there is my prob right there:(

Reaction time is nearly worthless, unless your racing competively.
Sit there all day if you can cut under 2 second 60fts in a FWD car. :)

Keys to better 60': Don't spin the tires. Feather instead of dropping
the clutch. Practice! Get better tires. Launch lower/higher
(depending, you could be bogging off the line).

So should you be shifting sooner, or later?

(obviously a newbie-to-drag question.. lol)

When I outran a 3-series BMW last week, I was shifting at redline. If I shifted sooner, would I have done even better?
