hello fellow EPers. i have a friend that has an rsx type s and he just got the type r intake manifold for his ride . he is willing to give me his stock one for free if it will work on my EP.
so my question is will this work ok and will it give any gains?

I've always heard that the two (EP and Type S) are identical.

ummm yeah to my knowledge... they're the same...
and i dont see why the type-r would be any different either?
whats the diff? only thing i can think of is the size of the TB...

We have the same intake manifold as the RSX-s.

you are already using the type-s manifold in your stock ep3

Now a Type-R DC5 manifold might be better.

yeah, type s and si are the same. Now what you have to do is tell him you will take it, and when hes not looking, switch it with the type r manifold.

The type R intake manifold is supposed to flow better.
Gains are only above 8000rpm on the A2 though, so not much use on the A3.

Yeah its supposed to help with power above 8000 just like SIRman said, so it would be useless for our EP, unless we somehow get to rev past 8000 :D

The type R manifold have a diffrent length of runners, enabling more power to be produced at high RPM's. But if we put this manifold on our carrs we would loose a considerable amount of low end torque.

Torque = Acceleration

the DC5 R manifold is only good for top rpm induction....isnt the whole manifold have shorter runners but bigger maniflod chamber???:rolleyes:
