The bar comes with instructions and a template/sticker that outlines where you need to cut it on each side. So you just place the stickers on each panel and cut around the outline. Not too hard just takes some time to cut as little as possible without making huge holes.

Just went and snaped a couple of pics. Good thing that part is covered by the seats cause I did not do a very good job and broke a few clips on one side. You just gotta take your time and cut a little then put it on there and see how it is. The holes will have to be a little bigger and probably wont be flush with it cause its kind of hard to get the panels on there.

Does mugen rear upper tie bar has same monunting point? Anybody?

i didn't trim cause i left the rear covers off, like to access the koni adjustables without hassle, but if you were to do it by the book, you would have to trim.

Thats exactly how mine looks, I also left the ebay lower rear strut bar attached, so I have two strut bars...

The bar is incredibly helpful in cornering and overall rear stiffness.

Leaving the panels off would be the easy way to do it. I don't have anything to adjust, yet, so I don't need easy access to the shocks. It looks perfectly fine from the trunk with the seats up, and they usually are up. The instructions came with tamplates, so I thought what the hell might as well do it. And I did not want to have holes like that with the panels missing. The stiffness and all that is improved I guess.

hard for me to say whether how well it performed since I installed the rear upper bar, the front upper bar, the x brace, and the CTR rear sway bar all at the same time, so with all those addition, the car cornered with very little body roll. and is more rigit.

another reason i didn't cut the panels is in case i want to return the car to stock, i can sell all the parts and not have to buy new covers. plus my subwoofer box covers the missing panels now anyways.

it's the same mounting points, there ain't anymore bolt holes in that area. some small trimming of the panel is required to mount the bar on.
