As some of you know I'm an entry level Honda mechanic, still going through my Honda modules and certifications. Just incase any of you are wondering, this is the process to get an ECU reprogrammed to recognize your immobilizer. Like say you put an a2 motor in your car and you need to program the a2 ECU to work with your immobilizer I can do it. Or if you're switching ECUs, etc. Here are a few pics. Honda scan tool in car:

Going to menu to setup reprogram:

Enter PCM code from DCS to open up the ECU for immobilizer recognition:

And the rest of the process is yes and no...pretty simple and dealers charge you $60!! Kinda gay. If anybody in nor cal wants, I can do it for $15 if and when you all need to. After all is done, do a system check, then start the car:

I can do DTC code reading, data logging, and all sorts of cool stuff. Here's a picture of 1/3 of the list it can read/see from just plugging it into your car:

I'm going to get to play with the new Honda Scan tool pretty soon which is 10x more advance than the one you see in those pics.

I think you meant PCM code (iN code) instead of DTC code.

The Honda Diagnostic System Tablet is about $6k. Very nice tool none the less:D

I was thinking about getting a small part time job at the honda dealership just for access to some of that stuff.. plus I know a lot of the people at my dealership so they would let me use the lift and stuff if needed.

Can this been done with any snap-on tool scanners? At work they will let me use a demo tool for a weekend some times if they have one on hand.

I'm not even a honda tech and I could do it...haha...
I've seen it done on my car on 3 seperate occasions...LOL...

Note: The code is only good for THE SAME DAY you get it. And if you need the code for an ACURA ECU then you have to get it from an Acura dealership because a Honda dealership can't get that info for you.
