17" tire sizes

ok, probably by the end of the summer ill need to replace the tires on my 17" wheels. as of now they have 215/45-17 tires on them. ive been looking at replacing them with tires that are a little wider, so my question is: will any of these tires rub with stock suspension?

225/45-17
225/40-17
235/40-17

i doubt the 225/40-17s will, and the same with the 225/45-17s, but if i can stuff 235/40-17s in there that would be great. also, if the 235/40's dont rub, will they fit on a 7" wide wheel?

225/50/16 was my last tire size --- and it bordered on being to big... you will NEVER stuff anything wider than 225 on our car...

I'm on Ziex 512's right now as well. I've put about 1000 miles on them since I got them. So far they are awesome! They have been great in the ultra-cold and slushy/snowy conditions we've been having here in the northeast lately. The snow traction surprised me. They are very sticky tires, and are equally happy on dry pavement or sandy roads.

I like them a lot so far. We'll see what happens come spring/summer in warm weather. =)

Also, you can go here to compare tire sizes - remember to compare with stock so as not to go more than 3% off.

i also have the ze512's and i would have to say i am very impressed. i used to have nitto nt450's and those were complete shit. they had no traction what-so-ever

I just got back from buying my second set ...

I ended up going with 205/50/16 because I did not want the tracking problems I had with the wider tire. Overall, very happy, car drives straight now.

I'm planning on buying the exact same brand/size very soon. I was quoted $68 each. Do you think that is a decent price? What did you pay for yours? They want $11 each to mount and balance too.

Good price... I paid 66$ per tire and 10.99 to mount/balance plus 2.50 for metal valve stems.

Why?

Well.... 'cause they are wide and they stick to uneven road surfaces better than a thin tire... and that causes tracking along the fucked up concave jacked up roads in colorado.
