lower unsprung weight, making your car handle better by making it easier for the springs to adapt to changes in road conditions, i.e. bumps. partially the same reason why lighter wheels are better.

For that price they could at least throw in spherical bearings.

I wonder if they have upgraded the bushings to a harder durometer?

Check out the Buddy Club ones:

They have pillowball bushings, and lower mount point is offset.

I believe both the Mugen and the Buddy Club control arms are just the Japanese RSX-R's control arms with their each company changing out the bushings with their own. Unless you're a hardcore racer, I'd think you'd be better off spending the $80 and just upgrade the bushings on all 4 corners with urethane. The weight savings hardly seems worth it for the price. Aftermarket tubular control arms (lighter even than these aluminum ones) for other car platforms, including urethane bushings only run in the $200-300 range.

Anyone know the cost of the Buddy Clubs? If I'd be curious to know their cost with the pillow mounts.

IMO the main reason to get these would be the offset lower balljoint mount point. it's 15mm farther out, resulting in a more favorable camber curve. basically you get more camber gain as the suspension compresses. very nice. but no way is it worth 500$ for me. for that much money, i'd have some custom tubular chromoly ones made.

i think the main problem is that you have to change your sways to jdm spec for the control arm to fit it seems.

Well, it seems like these wont work on our car. The balljoint hole is 2mm too big because the type -r uses a bigger balljoint. King motor sports offered to press in a metal ring so that the balljoint would fit for a guy on clubrsx, but he didn't take them up on their offer.
