Which would give the best gains?, if I could do only one. Looking for more top end breathing, but still would like to maintain low end torque and part-throttle response.

Header will be more $ then a b-pipe.
You could buy a header, then have muffler shop make you a 2.25" crush bent pipe for pretty cheap.

i would recommend dc 4-2-1 header. from anecdotal evidence, seems to give better standalone gains than bpipe. I have just this and hondata and I'm happy with setup. it is nowhere near as loud as any combination with intake or exhaust, but dc header gives engine a nice beefy sound.

Another response for Header! From 5000 up to rev-limiter mine pulls much harder than stock. Then get the B-pipe. I believe you can get a half-way desent one made for about $75-$100.
