View Full Version : Will this set-up put me into the mid to low 13's???

Well first off I am staying n/a with the motor... Here is the set-up that i am building as money comes into play... a2 head <- Port and Polished, toda cam's, aem fuel rail with larger injectors, skunk2 intake manifold, hondata intake manifold gasket, skunk2 throttle body, aem v2 intake, dc ceramic header, hks high power exhaust, es motor mounts (suspension mod, but it allows for better throttle response... type s ecu... (either flashed or maybe even the type r flash... if piston's can hold) and last but not least n/x 2 kit with either a 50-75 shot... Could this be done with the right amount of money or any suggestions... cause A) I am not selling the car, B) I don't wanna have the troubles of throwing in a whole new swap, and C) no turbo/supercharger

I think you can get there without the nos. Well, maybe a 10 shot couldn't hurt.

Oh yah, you will need some good wheel/tire combo too. Probably slicks on 15's??? You will also need some good springs to help launch. I suggest eibach.

Right now I have tein S... I need to start building up more suspension mod's!!! But first things first... unless i find a steal on the suspension upgrades...

Sticky tires are a plus... I am thinking about some falken's, right now i have kuhmo wrapped around my 17's... BTW horrible snow tires i might add lol... ha... yeah i know they aren't supposed to be snow tires but i wanted to keep the rims on... ohh well :)

Nobody, I am pretty sure. It can be done for about 300.

I'm sure you could get there with just I/H/E, tires, and a 75 shot. At least high 13's.

NOS will take you to 14's, and slicks to 13's. Just becareful with hondata. It only works in the situations they tell you and nothing else.

Yah, just make sure you have a street/strip clutch and upgraded flywheel so that you don't blow anything in that area too. I have seen dumbasses shoot NOS, and not accelerate at all because their clutch wasn't grabbing for shit. :eek: :eek: :D

heh it's easy really a freind of mine took an ep with a 100 shot on it to a track with bolt ons and he ran a 13.6 on street tires, but that setup na you had without the nitrous would be in the 13s

But you have to anticipate all things that can go wrong with nos. I have seen too many people blow their engines.

no, that setup will put you in the 12's :) ooo 12's are nice. i will be there veeeery shortly :)

Dude for the money you are going to drop for all this work, that you aren't even sure about. You should just do an k20a2 swap, sell your a3. You'd have a MUCH reliable setup, and with boltons on you will alomost be a mid 13 beast. The engine swap alone is easier then the Toda Cams. Just my 2 sense.

Why not Toda on the A2? Maybe that's not as different as you'd like to be but the A2 is a better N/A platform, IMO.

yes I agree because of the higher compression ratio's... But in the future I might change my mind... Therefore if someday i wanna be boosted or supercharged the right compression is there for me to use it at my will...

Also I knew somebody was gonna catch the whole n/a vs. nitrous debate :)

But plans are set on the car... Now I am just saving up and getting the head....

BTW 1FSTEP3 Could u tell me about ur whole experience of before and after with the p & p.

you think that the piston's couldn't keep up??? Or does everyone think that it would happen? If I go with the complete swap to an a2... then could i take my a3 i/h/e and use it on the a2 motor?
