Well...i thought my exhaust came today.....but i noticed a strange hole in the side of the box. carried it in the house and ripped it open. THIS attacked me. im scratched on damn near every inch of exposed skin and some that was even covered. on top of all that, this JDM beast is loose and has appairantly eaten my dog and taken over the top floor of my house. life locked up in the basement sucks. next time ill buy american.

looks very high quality to say the VERY least. came with silencer. only problem was the hole in the side of the box with one of the exhaust hangers sticking out but no damage was done. cant wait to put in on. looks SOOOOOOOOOOOOO nice;)

335shipped from R&D motorsports. it was on special. takes a little bit to get though. it has to be dropshipped from A&J in canada. i waited a little over 3 weeks from the time i placed the order to the time i got it but it was worth it.

many would say its not worth it when you can have a magnaflow catback for less but i like it. we'll see how it sounds tomorrow. might have to pick up a t1 midpipe as well.

sure is.......and when i get the type 1 midpipe itll be a catback:) but im still debating. might just do a custom midpipe like alot of other guys on the forum have.

I have had the Spoon N1 for 3 months now, and love it, I do run it with the silencer, but if I need to take it off, the alan key in our tool kit fits perfectly. I am using a custom midpipe on my setup and when I save up enough I will be getting a Type S testpipe so I can run JDM midpipes, and might either get the Spoon or T1R midpipe for the DC5 or CTR. I would recommend the muffler to anyone wanting a clean looking, high performance muffler. Here is my ass.

Are there any gains to be had with the N1 connected to the stock b-pipe? Or is it just for a different sound and good looks? Nothing wrong with nice sound and good looks - the Spoon crane sticker on the bumper over the exhaust is a nice touch.

SiRman
01-31-2004, 09:02 PM
It is unlikely you will see any gains with the stock midpipe, because the stock midpipe is the most restrictive part of our exhaust system. The resonator on the stock midpipe narrows to like 1 3/8" or something crazy small like that. Even with a midpipe the N1 will probably give negligable(sp) gains on a stock A3.

Ahh!
welcome to the n1 few and proud :D
<~~n1 owner

Also the axleback will not give you gains if any are to be gained they are only with the midpipe.
still the exhaust ownz!!
vrooom!!!

Stock muffler, vs no muffler

Changes are negligible.

That still blows my mind. Possible? Of course.

Some car mag had a comparison test including a V6 Accord, and they mentioned how it put out better power than another fast V6, even though the Accord's exhaust was much quieter.

Even Saturn worked to tune their exhaust to sound like a Honda's specifically to try to "sound reliable".

OEM does not always equal poor performance. But, that doesn't mean that you can't change the exhaust to get a different sound. Nice choice, let us know how it goes, especially with a new midpipe.

well, it hasnt been too long but its definitly a nice exhaust. i instlalled yesterday. its not too loud and the tone couldnt be better. i had no idea the stock axleback was so nice:eek: . but anyway, sounds good, looks good. im impressed. and i doubt its any real gain but honestly, i dont think there was really one with my HKS either. neither makes the car really feel too much different. but thats why we get exhausts most of the time right??? sound and looks. mission accomplished.:D
