My set-up is close to that. I have 17 x 7.5 with +45 offset running 215/40 tires. I have no problems with rubbing. My springs are GC's and it is set fairly low. The road noise is caused by the wear on the tires. So if the car is in need of a alignment and wears the tires unevenly it causes road noise.

You'll be fine! By running the 45 series insted of the 40, the tire will be just a tad(24.6 inches)taller. I have about one index finger worth of fender gap.

Chet- May i ask why your running such a small tire? I want some of those KW's or the JIC's will do.

I tried two sizes, and w/the Progress drop I used to have. . .That's what worked. At least as far as the tires they had in stock at the time (Toyo FZ4's). I forget the other size, but it was too tall. It doesn't seem to be too small. And the tires w/the 7.5" wide Attacks, they are almost identical height to the stock tires and wheels.

New shoes are on the menu for 2004;)
